The Insomniac Experiment Aftermath

Now it's (check's clock) almost 5:30PM. Now, I'm absolutely exhausted. And this is right after I took a long nap. Maybe there's more to this story than I thought. Either way, that was the worst nap in my entire life!

The Insomniac Experiment Conclusion

My conclusion to this experiment was: it was AWESOME!!!!!! I can't believe I stayed up for 24 hours. Now that I know the effects (i.e. slight drowsiness, sore eyes) I know what to expect from myself. Thus, I can stay up longer next time. Can't wait. But right now, I need a good long sleep. Keep following, but from a distance. Good Night!

The Insomniac Experiment 3.1

I did it! I survived without sleep for 24 hours! Finally! Here are some interesting facts about sleeping: The record for the longest period without sleep is 18 days, 21 hours, 40 minutes during a rocking chair marathon. The record holder reported hallucinations, paranoia, blurred vision, slurred speech and memory and concentration lapses. In insomnia following bereavement, sleeping pills can disrupt grieving. Some studies suggest women need up to an hour's extra sleep a night compared to men, and not getting it may be one reason women are much more susceptible to depression than men. Feeling tired can feel normal after a short time. Those deliberately deprived of sleep for research initially noticed greatly the effects on their alertness, mood and physical performance, but the awareness dropped off after the first few days. Info from http://www.abc.net.au/science/sleep/facts.htm I did it! I'm so happy!
6 minutes left!

13 minutes left!

30 minutes

In 30 minutes I'll have stayed up for 24 hours. Also, 30 minutes is a song by t. A. T. u. It's a good song, a good band with good music, and a good accomplishment. I can't wait!

Droopy

I'm on the verge of sleep now. I suddenly started feeling tired. Not really really tired, but just tired. I could easily fall asleep. But I won't. I have one hour left, and I'm going to make it.

The Insomniac Experiment 3.0

Still nothing. Feeling normal. I think the test was a waste of time.

The Insomniac Experiment 2.9

Still nothing exciting is happening. I'm on my computer... Yeah...

The Insomniac Experiment 2.8

I'm still awake, and still not tired. I will make it through the day. Not much to tell besides that. If you're looking for a good TV show, check out Glee and Leverage.

The Insomniac Experiment 2.7

Actually, this was quite fun. I spent most of my time on YouTube, watching Who's Line is it Anyway?: Props. I'm still not tired. Maybe I'm tired and I just don't know it. 4 hours till noon. I think I can make it! I know I can make it!

The Insomniac Experiment 2.6

So far, so great! no side effects besides mild heartburn (acid reflux) and slightly sore eyes. I'm still waiting for my family to get up. I never realized that we got up so late.

Yay

My family's about to wake up. Can't wait (sarcastically).

The Sun

Ahh... the sun is rising, and it's beautiful. Such a sight. Definitely worth staying up for!

The Insomniac Experiment 2.5

I ended up not making a sandwich, but just having jello and yogurt. Ah well. So far, I feel completely normal. This might just be because I naturally don't need a lot of sleep. Or food. I don't know. It is a fun experiment, though. Sadly, the world will soon wake up. I liked being awake when no one else was. I hope to do this some other time, maybe for two days (48 hours) not just one (24 hours). That would be fun. I still have 6 hours to go, though. But, I might stop blogging, because I'll be around other people. I'll try my hardest. Keep tuning in for more!

The Insomniac Experiment 2.4

I'm not really sure what to write. The pain in my eyes has gone away. Besides being slightly hungry, I feel normal. Nothing much happened in this past hour. Well, actually, something really embarrassing happened, but I don't think I'll blog about that. Maybe some other day. Ah well. I'm going to make myself a sandwich. See ya...

The Insomniac Experiment 2.3

Something HUGE happened. Something that will blow your mind. I saw a spider. OK, it's not as big as you think, but I have arachnophobia, so it was big to me. Let's start at the beginning. I was lying in bed, on YouTube, when I felt a tingling sensation on my arm. I looked over, and I saw a HUGE spider (it was pretty little, actually) crawling on my skin. I freaked out, and had just enough sense to close my computer before I ran out of my room. After I calmed down I went on a mission to recover my computer, headphones, and charger cable. To make a long story short, it worked successfully. I then crept downstairs and am now sitting on top of the kitchen table. On top of it, not just at it. Needles to say, I freaked out. I'm going to make some tea. It has caffeine, to help me stay up, and it's not as acidic as coffee, so my acid reflux won't act up. Not it mention it slowly releases it's caffeine, so I don't just get a burst then a crash, but a slow awake-ness. Keep following closely, but not too closely!

All Night Long 2.2

It's 3AM, and besides slightly droopy eyes, i'm doing pretty good. I am enjoying YouTube, and all it's video's, and lovin' this experiment. I think I'll call it The Insomniac Experiment from now on. Wish me luck!

All Night Long 2.1

This is my second check in with my blogging peeps. It's almost 2AM, and I feel great. I just hope my pesky acid reflux doesn't act up tonight, because I'm not leaving my bed for pills until I see the sun. Like Kesha once said, or sung, tonight imma fight till we (I) see the sunrise (Tik Tok). So far so good, but lets see how things progress...

All Night Long 2

This is my second attempt at staying up all night. I will keep you posted every hour, hopefully. If I make this, I will be so tired. Only 11 more hours to go till noon. Since I woke up at noon yesterday, I can sleep at noon today. I wonder what my mom will think. Ah well...
